Other dates

Here’s the table of some of the residents and occupations from dates I know. I do hope to add to this list. If you had a relative or know of anyone who lived at the Buildings please use the contact form above to pass on their details and I’ll add them to the list.

Thanks

Guy

Hello Guy, I’ve been doing some more digging about Blackwall. The following lived in the Buildings :

Winifred and Tommy Gore (my Mum’s oldest sister).
Blanche and Fred Brown (next eldest sister)
Jimmy and Ivy Algar (brother but the Algars lived in the buildings also)
Lily and George Harvey (Sister) lived there until 1947
Fred and Jessie Soaper lived at No. 74 from 1919
until at least 1924. Jessie was my Grandfather’s sister (James Joshua Newland).
Priscilla and Harry Dowman (Priscilla was Grandfather’s sister). They married 1914 and divorced by 1931 then she married Edward Kelly.
Margaret (grandfather’s youngest sister) married James DeBuse and they lived at 92 right up until 1941 at least.
Kathleen (grandfather’s sister) married Charles Stevens – don’t know their number.
James Patrick Newland (my great-grandfather) married to Elizabeth Thurling) lived there until his death in 1935. They were in No. 88.
Mum (Maureen b. 1936) remembers a lady called Sylvia Horowitz, a chap Bob Broughton and a Mrs Margotson known as Aunt Magg.
